The 2023 minimum wage will be higher than in 2022, with the increase taking place in January 2023. According to the Labour Minister, the 2023 net minimum wage will be based on two criteria. Although one of them is already known, the minimum wage will not be raised in two phases, partly in 2022 and partly in 2023.
The 2023 minimum wage increase will be calculated on the basis of two criteria: the minimum cost of living and the annual inflation rate in December 2022.
The latter will be known on 15 January 2023.Although the minimum cost of living has already been calculated, the Government has decided to wait for the inflation rate.
As a result, the minimum wage will only be raised once, so it is not yet known what the minimum wage will be in 2023. Trade unionists expect it to be between €870 and €900 net.
